REMINDER: This offer runs through 4/30!
UPDATE: For those of you who have already purchased the card and are asked to verify the two small deposits CLICK HERE and click Set Up An Account
Here is an easy way to make $25!
You can now get a FREE $25 bonus Gift Card from American Express when you load a Prepaid Card for the first time with $25 or more and enter promo code AEPC25 by April 30, 2012. Make sure to load your prepaid Amex card with at least $25 for the first time to receive the $25 gift card bonus. The $25 bonus gift card will be mailed to you a few weeks after. There is no credit check to get the card and no monthly or annual fees. Also, you’ll pay no purchase fees or overdraft fees. It is quite simple really. I plan to use my $25 on gas once I get it. Since that is a inevitable expense, the bonus $25 is a freebie
How to order:
- Order Amex Prepaid Card with promo code AEPC25
- Load the Card with at least $25 within 45 days (prior to April 30, 2012).
- Get $25 Bonus Amex gift card mailed in a few weeks.
The Amex Prepaid card comes with loaded benefits, but not with fees. Members can access to world-class Cardmembership benefits, like Purchase Protection1 on eligible purchases, Roadside Assistance2, Fraud Protection, and Global Assist Services3.

How do I know that they are for sure going to send me the gift card? On the last page before “submit” it isn’t saying anything about a gift card.
they ran this promo about 6 months ago, and everyone that signed up got one, so this time I figured I would post it
So if I load the card with cash when it comes, will I still get the $25 dollars?
So, can I load it with $25 when I am signing up to get the card? Or do I have to wait until I get the card and then load $25 onto it? And is there a limit on how many you can do? One per person? per household? Thanks so much! You always have the best variety of deals here!
you should load it now with the $25, I loaded mine with $26 just in case
I ordered it! So it didn’t mention the gift card anywhere during or after checkout. I did put the code given above in the promotional code optional box. I am assuming the gift card will still come some time later?
yes, that it how it is supposed to work. This is my first time ordering too, so we shall see
I don’t like that it asks for your social security # that freaks me out… I also don’t want to give my banking account # with my social security #, that just seems like asking for trouble. I hope it all works out for those of you that do this. From what the post says you can load the $25 before April 30th to get the $25, I don’t think I’d put my banking info with my soc # There is a 1-800 number to call on the AmEx page. I think I’d to that route.
I disagree, this is just like a credit card in many aspects, therefore it is completely secure. I would rather type my info securely online then to tell a complete stranger over the phone.
Erin, I think for these kind of cards specifically, they are obligated to ask for your SS because of federal regulations. This would be a prime target for money laundering. Put money in a nameless card and use it everywhere amex is accepted. So of course they have to have a way to trace that money to an actual person if need be. I don’t think they actually even check your identity [other then making sure it is a valid SS number]. They would only do that if the gov asked them to for auditing purposes. HTH
I received an email to verify 2 small bank deposits but they don’t give any instructions on setting up an account without a card number! This is screwy!
lol I had to figure it out too, go here: https://www212.americanexpress.com/dsmlive/dsm/dom/us/en/personal/cardmember/additionalproductsandservices/giftcardsandtravelerscheques/gpr_home.do?vgnextoid=afdd06393b3ec210VgnVCM100000defaad94RCRD&vgnextchannel=95ddb81e8482a110VgnVCM100000defaad94RCRD&appInstanceName=default&name=gpr_home&type=intbenefitdetail&source=ReloadHP_GPR and then click Set Up Account (you won’t need the card number)
If you do not want to give your bank info to load funds one of my friends got a Green Dot Money Pak card from CVS and added money to it (cash only) then used that to add money to her Amex card. She had to pay a $4.95 Service fee at CVS, but the $4.95 Service Fee was then credited to her Amex card 3 days later. So she didn’t lose any money.
(You can look this all up on the Green Dot MoneyPak website)
I ordered mine , have an account and loaded. Do I still need to verify two sall purchases?
it isn’t purchases it’s deposits
I was told unless I had the original email I would not get the 25 bonus
i was told the same thing as sally kerr. i wonder if thats true or just their way to limit it?
I just called American Express and Customer service told me that this was a “leak” and it is not valid. She said that unless you receive an email directly from AE it would not be valid.
