Last year I embellished a dress for my little girl by making a turkey applique. You can use this process on quilts, tops, onesies, purses, or just about anything fabric.

These shapes from a foam craft inspired her festive outfit…I know I’m obsessed with cute toddler holiday clothes…Especially fun applique stuff! For this project you will need:

Fabric scraps

Wonder Under or fusible web

scissors

an iron

needle & thread, or your sewing machine

I ironed on Wonder Under under my fabric pieces and then cut out my shapes. You remove the paper backing and iron them on how you want them on the shirt. Arrange them how you want first, then iron.

I embellished a little further with some button eyes and a pink bow.
Oh I also hand stitched around the edges…you more advanced sewers would probbaly prefer the machine :)

A turkey in fall colors would be super cute on a onesie or top for a boy.

My sweet 3 year old told me “Oh mom I just looove turkeys! They are such a neat animal.” Didn’t have the heart to brake it to her we’ll be feasting on one soon! lol But so glad she likes her dress.

Make sure to come back and let me know if you end up making one for your little ones.

Happy Turkey day next month! Gobble! Gobble!
