I just registered my $5 GC that I had been wanting to register for some times and now is a good time to do so. And I just checked my card balance and it has $10 in it now. Thank you for letting us know.

Because I am not new and have already registered my card before, I bought an egift card for $5 online (egift allows you buy as low as $5). Had it sent to myself. Registered it. The $5 was added immediately. Once I confirmed that the additional $5 was on there, I unregistered the card and then added the card ($10) to my Starbucks app. Took about 5 minutes. Worth it for me.
You actually do not need a $5.00 minimum on your card. I used the free $2.60 from the Blonde Roast which I transferred to a brand new card and added the $5.00 to that. I now have $7.60
